I would like to open a discussion on media bias and how hard it is to get unbiased news.  It is exceptionally hard in the print media and the nightly network news is going the same way, although ABC news does a better job than CBS or NBC which is the worst.  I grew up on NBC and watched them as an organization to give me both sides of the story.  Not anymore.  There bias is so blatant that I don't trust them at all.

I do see a bias, and it does seem that most news organizations are actively rooting for the Democrats and NBC news is actively campaigning for Senator Obama.  It does make it hard to get the facts of each campaign.  I think most of this is because most news organizations have long ago forgotten that is their job to inform us, not persuade us and let us make our decision in the voting booth.

What sources of news do you feel comfortable with?  Who do you look to the most?  I like ABC News and Fox News.
I don't trust newspapers any more and if I want to check facts, I will look at factcheck.org

The bias is not only in the mainstream media, but in blogs and on the web.  To many voters will look at blogs and take what is written as fact.  On a decision this important voters should be getting news from reputable sources, which I grant you are becoming harder to find.  The network with the most bias in my opinion is NBC.  You would think they were of Obama's staff.

An example of bias is the LA Times right now holding back a tape of Obama with someone associated with the PLO.  The LA Times should release this, but here again there bias towards Obama trumps our right to know.

It does seem by the LA Times action that there could be some bias, or it could be that just as they say, they are protecting their source.

I saw on the news last night a commentator who compared the number of negative versus positive reports about the news coverage of the candidates and NBC was extremely biased.  It seems they have vested interest in one candidate.

Did you see where Obama booted reporters whose newpapers endorsed McCain?  The paper endorsed McCain not the reporters.
