How many of you have been following the controversy in Washington D.C about the posters like the one below they want to put on the buses?



I believe in free speech, but I also believe in religious freedom.  I believe in God, and I consider this as another round with Christmas and my right to believe the way I want.

I have been following this.  It is becoming a Christmas tradition to try to take Christ out Christmas.  It doesn't work.  They have right to believe (or not believe), that is their choice.  They shouldn't try to force it on us.

It does seem that this is becoming an annual event.  It sure isn't like when I was kid.

This a part of what is considered the "Culture War" going on this country.  What is disturbing about this is that while the majority of Americans don't agree with what is going on the are silent on the issues.  We should be more vocal about this.  America is changing, but the values that got us this far shouldn't be.

I have been saying "Merry Christmas" since I was a child and I'll keep saying "Merry Christmas". If anyone is offended by that, to bad.

Something else that has been happening over the past few years is stores don't always allow the Salvation Army to collect outside the stores anymore.  I generally don't buy from these places during the Christmas season as the Salvation Army helps a lot of people.

I feel the same way about the Salvation Army.  They have been part of Christmas since I was a child.  It just seems that Christmas isn't the same as it used to be.

Did you see what is happening in Washington State where they have an atheist display next to a Christmas display?

I saw that on the O'Reilly factor last night.  This is another case of out of control political correctness.  This shows that as a society that we are afraid to do anything that might be construed to be offensive to anyone.  This is federal holiday, but it was a religious holiday first.  I wonder what has happened to values we used to have.

Maybe someone could explain why Christmas is so offensive?  If you don't like the holiday, just enjoy the day off.  Stop trying to convince us that we all don't understand.  If you don't believe in God or the holiday keep it to yourself.

Instead of being a happy and joyful season like Christmas was I was a boy, it has turned into another political debate.  There seems to be a movement in this country to destroy all of the traditions and culture that are a part of America.  It seems that the joy of living in America has been replaced with a "You the majority are wrong in you thinking, America is bad and we are going to prove it" mentality. If they don't like Christmas, they don't have to participate.  That is the beauty of the American way of life.

Did you yesterday in the State of Washington, the silent majority made it clear what they think.  They rallied to show what they think of this affront to their beliefs.  Good for them.
